The adjustable keeper is designed to allow mold line adjustment of the preload with the latch remaining in the closed position. This enables the mechanic to quickly adjust the preload on all the latches on an engine nacelle without having to open the nacelle. This adjustment should be accomplished with standard tools and not require any measurements. Maintaining a proper preload reduce the vibration and wear on the latch assemblies.
